Hi All,

In recent years, the Chinese IETF community has been growing rapidly and
hopes that IETF can hold meetings in China to encourage more Chinese IT and
CT professionals to participate in IETF and achieve diversity. As I know,
many Chinese companies are willing to consider supporting and sponsoring
IETF meetings in China.

In terms of organizing meetings in China, there are some positives to
consider:

As the pandemic situation improves, various types of visas for China have
been reopened, and PCR tests are currently not required for entry. A number
of my foreign colleagues have already successfully attended international
conferences in China.

The difficulty of visa application varies for each individual. For example,
my visa application to attend a conference in the United States was quite
complicated. I organized an ITU-T conference in Xi'an in 2019, and based on
my experience, invitation letters and applying for visas to China should not
be too difficult.

B.R.

Weiqiang Cheng
