Dear Gurus
I need a small clarification on the method of load sharing using 2 Virtual
routers ,

consider a case where 2 virtual routers are configured to share the load of
a LAN segment, so there will be 2 VRIDs in a single interface and both
routers will Act as Master for a single VRID and backup for the other,
accordingly the hosts will be grouped in to two , one group having VRID1's
IP address as gwy and the other with VRID2's IP address.

My doubt in only forwarding the packets to hosts from the WAN side.

If both routers are alive then its ok, each will have to handle only one
VRID and forwarding packets will be sent with that Virtual Mac address,
incase if one of the Router goes off, then only single Router will be
available and it has to act as Master for Both VRID,

Now how it will forward packets to hosts, means with what MAC address it
will send ?

Are there any way of classifying Hosts' IP address of to VRIDs , Need some
help in this reg

Also pl hint me what type of support is needed from IP like Aliasing,
multinetting etc

Thanks in Advance

Best Regards
Gunaseelan V
