Hi, all:

I'm participating remotely and I've been finding that
support for remote participants has been hit-and-miss,
particularly around Jabber scribing. It's been my
impression that there's an assumption that all remote
participants will be listening to the audio stream and
that's really not always the case, esp. given the
scheduling difficulties at this particular meeting and
the fact that there are many of us who are participating
in several sessions meeting at the same time. Believe
me, I know how difficult it is to get volunteers to
take minutes and to scribe during the session, and I
don't want to make it harder to find people willing to
help by increasing the workloads on scribes. At the
same time, there's no point having scribes if they're
not going to be useful.

At a minimum, though, I think we really need to have
scribes post topic transitions (for people who need to
change rooms/sessions because of their involvement
in a particular topic), and to post when hums are being
taken.

A reminder that this exists:
http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-saintandre-jabber-scribe/.
It's helpful.
