Just make sure your stuff is not up for grabs.

Yesterday I saw somebody being pick pocketed on the parking lot next to the Hilton. I guy snatched a bag from a shoulder and ran away. 

In general, I think it is OK to walk around, but I do not have the feeling of safety that I have in Paris [no pun intended]
