I dont write 2001:db8 in emails because I am always afraid to not say 
something wrong - is that 2001 for sure, is it db8 or b8d?

And it's shorter to write 1::1

Ah.  To me 1::1 instead of 2001:db8::1 is like saying "hi" instead of
