Wouldn’t the normal reaction to be to chuckle for three seconds and then continue on their way?

This is because the data models of the representation formats are related.
CDN users might very well want to know that CBOR itself is a useful data representation format that covers JSON and certain parts of YAML.
I don’t see a negative here, at all.
