Hi, Daniel, Chairs, WG,

During the finalization of this work (and otn-topology), we noticed one question for your confirmation. It's about how to put the reference of ITU-T G.sup43, which specifies the ODU1e, ODU3e1 and ODU3e2. The problems are 1) References in YANG models MUST be normative and 2) ITU-T supplement can only be informative. After discussion with YANG doctors and ADs, we decided to remove the citation of G.sup43 in our YANG models (and will do that in the next update).

Now we are working on the text and need to figure out how to deal with this problem, the options are:
1) remove referencing the G.sup43 and RFC 7963 from the document.
2) remove G.sup43 and RFC7963 only in YANG but keep some text for people who may want to use the ODU1e/ODU3e1/ODU3e2. Then the G.sup43 and RFC7963 will become informative references.

We think this is important so we are writing to seek for comments from the WG. Authors are preferring option 2) and plan to update by the end of next week if there is no strong objections.

Thank you.

Best wishes,
Haomian

Hi Tom, acknowledged.

I will shepherd layer1-types and otn-topo-yang and help improve the English, fix nits, et al.

Hi Daniele, WG.

Re: Anyone volunteering to be the shepherd of the draft?

I can perform this task.

Re: English Review

Although I have a few I-Ds that depend on this work, I never conducted an English review. However, I can do an English review this week if the authors plan an update post-LC comments.

Dan

I did not comment on the English of this I-D because it seems more or less ok; it is the otn-topo-yang where I found a significant number of quirks, starting with Section 1! I think I understand it but it is a lot for an RFC Editor to correct and at least some of our recent AD have been commenting on the English so we may get 50 or more corrections from the IESG review, in which case, better we did it first.

WG,

The polling is now closed. We'll proceed with submission to the IESG.

Anyone volunteering to be the shepherd of the draft?

Thanks
Daniele
