When I went on a time management course once, the instructor suggested to
log your time in detail for one week - note down once every 15 minutes what
you are doing - and analyse the results. (This is was back in the old
days where "work" took place in an "office" for some number of hours,
and "note" meant writing on a piece of paper.)

It was illuminating - especially the discovery that I was task-switching
so much that the 15 minute granularity was too coarse. The (anonymised)
results of a similar exercise for all ADs might be revealing.

The incentive is that it's actually very useful to understand your
workload in detail; and it only takes about 40 seconds an hour to
make such a log, ~1% of one week's work.
