Bonjour is based on mDNS (http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-cheshire-dnsext-multicastdns/) and DNS-SD (http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-cheshire-dnsext-dns-sd/), both currently in the RFC editors queue.....
