I support the advancement out of the working group for:

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-idr-bgp-sendholdtimer/

this addresses and adds significant clarity to situations that routinely
cause significant observable impact between peering sessions on the
internet. while stacks have significant variability in how they handle
errors i think this is a significant improvement in baseline expectations,
an is observably useful in circumstances where other mitigitions like say
BFD might not be appropriate or effective because they are uncoupled
services or are not readily usable between peers.

Thanks
joel
