Dear NMOP and OPSAWG working group,

At IETF 119, I introduced to NMOP below informational overview document. Describing the YANG-Push integration into Apache Kafka.

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-netana-nmop-yang-kafka-integration
https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/119/materials/slides-119-nmop-an-architecture-for-yang-push-to-apache-kafka-integration-00.pdf

At the NETCONF working an adoption call is currently running on https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ahuang-netconf-notif-yang-04. The document solves the problem that RFC 5277 defines the netconf notification header in XML only. Since YANG Push (RFC 8641) is based on netconf notification defined in RFC 5277, current YANG-Push messages can't be validated based on schema compliance. This document solves that problem.

If you consider this as important to enable YANG-Push industry adoption I suggest to reply your support on the netconf mailing list.

Best wishes
Thomas

Be aware: This is an external email.

NETCONF WG,

This message starts a two week poll on adopting the following document:

YANG model for NETCONF Event Notifications
        https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ahuang-netconf-notif-yang-04

The poll ends April 20.

Please send email to the list indicating "yes/support” or "no/do not support". If indicating no, please state your reservations with the document. If yes, please also feel free to provide comments you'd like to see addressed once the document is a WG document.

No IPR is known for this document: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/netconf/oQVZ6Pf_novNfMB4RsnDxQibHpM/

PS: this document received strong support before, being very focused, providing just a module enabling validation of YANG “notification” messages.

Kent and Per (as co-chairs)
