If making things more optimal in some cases causes some things to fail, you have chosen poorly.

The Internet’s use of one common interchange message is founded on the idea that “being able to talk to everyone someone”is more important than “being able to talk to anyone more efficiently”.

I.e Metcalfe’s law of utility is more important than performance.
