We have uploaded a revision of the dplpmtud specification for UDP Options, this follows a helpful review by Mike Heard noting several areas for impovement of the text, but no changes to the protocol function. We'd welcome any further review commentsfrom people in the group. Thanks, Gorry & Tom -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: New Version Notification for draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud-08.txt Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2023 00:56:51 -0700 From: internet-drafts@ietf.org To: Godred Fairhurst <gorry@erg.abdn.ac.uk>, Gorry Fairhurst <gorry@erg.abdn.ac.uk>, Tom Jones <tom@erg.abdn.ac.uk> A new version of I-D, draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud-08.txt has been successfully submitted by Godred Fairhurst and posted to the IETF repository. Name: draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud Revision: 08 Title: Datagram PLPMTUD for UDP Options Document date: 2023-06-26 Group: tsvwg Pages: 17 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud-08.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud/ Htmlized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud Diff: https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url2=draft-ietf-tsvwg-udp-options-dplpmtud-08 Abstract: This document specifies how a UDP Options sender implements Datagram Packetization Layer Path Maximum Transmission Unit Discovery (DPLPMTUD) as a robust method for Path Maximum Transmission Unit discovery. This method uses the UDP Options packetization layer. It allows an application to discover the largest size of datagram that can be sent across the network path. It also provides a way to allow the application to periodically verify the current maximum packet size supported by a path and to update this when required. The IETF Secretariat
