WNILS
Whois and Network Information Lookup Service
Agenda
November 1, 1993

I.	Approval of the Minutes

II.	Status of Whois++ Architecture
              Peter Deutsch

Several implementations are available for evaluation. A relatively stable
Internet Draft is required for interoperability testing.

II.	Status of the Distributed Whois++ model - Centroids
              Chris Weider

III.	Status of Whois++ Clients
              Jim Fullton

IV.	Status of Recommended Modifications to the Whois Protocol
              Joan Gargano

This document is available as an Internet Draft and has not been modified
for 6 months. Final submission as an informational item was delayed
pending stablization of the architecture document. It does not appear it will
require further modification due to protocol development. Discussion will
focus on the final status of this paper.

V.	Discussion of Whois++ Implementations

              Currently available implementations:

Alan Emtage
Bunyip Information Systems

There is now support for centroids and almost all centroid commands.
I have set up an experimental server tree with this server which you can
try out. It looks like:

sunic.sunet.se:7070   --->  kth.se:7070  ---> othello.admin.kth.se:43
                                        \
                                         ---> cyklop.nada.kth.se:7070

Running Servers Only

I know of no safe repository of the ultimate power of society but the people. And if we think them not enlightened enough, the remedy is not to take power from them, but to inform them by education.
