Yes it would.

One good compromise is to report the outside feedback on the WG's 
mailing list, and to continue to discuss over there.

A bad approach is to say "I got outside feedback to do it that way, and 
that's what I'm doing. Take it or leave it". (Note: I'm not saying you did)
