With respect to this draft I have a few comments.

I think it is great that the sensing and actuation of a vehicle
situation and movement are proposed to be done with IPv6 ND messages -
CCM and ECM.

In that sense, I noticed the draft-gundavelli-6man-nd-location-00.txt
over in 6MAN WG, recently discussed. Maybe the two drafts are related.

At the same time, I have a doubt.

If we build a network of many cars in a string in a V2V manner (along a
road), it might be using a single subnet between each pair of two cars.
In that way, it might be difficult to forward a CCM message along that
network, because CCM is an ND message, on a single link.

At that point one wonders whether ND is the right kind of protocol for CCM.

Of course, it is also possible to consider a platoon of a few cars which
form a single subnet. In this subnet it is indeed appropriate to use
CCM as an ND message. But this kind of platoon can not grow very large.

So, probably there is a possibility to consider the CCM and ECM messages
also as a higher layer variant (above IP).

It is just some thoughts.

Alex
