I invite WG members to visit
https://github.com/ietf-wg-jsonpath/draft-ietf-jsonpath-base/pull/97, where
there has been discussion of the changes Greg has proposed, and form their
own opinion about Carsten's aggressive statement.

Since that PR has a bunch of changes, it may be helpful to pull out a few
for independent discussion/decision?
