I think that is correct, and I've visited Australia as a private individual several times since that law came in, with my laptop, and I would add that it has no bearing on normal actions by a visitor either. The fact that it rides roughshod over RFC1984 and RFC2804 is a bit beside the point.

(I'm curious to know how the Australian authorities reconciled the provisions of this law with their participation in the Anom sting.)
