I'll read this in detail.

In the meantime, I'd just like to point out that RPL is a very different
beast from Babel.  Babel is designed to require minimum configuration, and
we have made serious efforts to ensure that all variants interoperate to
the extent possible.  RPL, on the other hand, has at least three distinct
non-interoperable variants (storing mode, non-storing mode, and another
one that I forget), and requires extensive configuration in order to build
a working network.
