I suggest that we start off with just one spec.

Chances are that if there is a defined standard that makes sense, many folk
will gravitate towards it because whatever the advantages/disadvantages of
one flavor, going to a standard is usually better.

And rather than just picking what the authors think is their favorite, I
suggest that we look at the userbase. And there Wikipedia is going to win
hands down because they have a userbase of millions editing that format.
And that is the one most other folk who don't roll their own seem to follow.


Lets not begin by proliferating. Do one, do it well and then see if there
is a need for others.

When I get time, I plan to add markdown input to my rfctool. Because most
RFCs are simply slabs of text interrupted by section and paragraph breaks
and don't even need HTML.
