I was just about to comment on the same paragraph by saying that the
position descriptions, while originating from the body where the positions
are to be filled, are only a view of what the role is and what skills are
needed.

The NomCom is not just about hearing the community feedback on the
candidates in order to make the best selection. It is also about hearing,
from the community, what work and skills are needed in the positions to be
filled.

So, yes, the NomCom has a role in considering the position descriptions and
the community's input.

The confirming body is empowered to question the NomCom to determine why/how
it made its choices.

Adrian

I have never heard that from anyone before this. I wonder if others believe
this, or if you are in the rough.
