When you say email address, I would assume you mean an existing email
address standard, and that the group is not defining a new way to represent
an email address. Correct?

As I am sure you are aware, schemas are hard, and I don't think it is
appropriate for this group to define new ones for phone numbers or postal
addresses.

The same would go with the various ways to represent a person's name. I
think we should reference existing standards in this area unless we
absolutely must to create new, unique value.
