[JRE] This is an important point. Those who stand to benefit from e2e (or end-domain-to-end-domain) authenticated identification are the end users and their domains. Intermediate domains do not benefit. Therefore any mechanism that is harder to deploy at intermediate domains without benefiting those intermediate domains will not be adopted.
