Robert,

I’m not at liberty to discuss any operational practices we employ…
As you can imagine - any such routing change involves route tagging and a number of a rather complex policies; in highly symmetrical topologies, uniform route distribution is just fine, however in case of a catastrophic failures (especially in case of limited optical availability) ability to target a subset of BGP speakers could be advantageous.
