Well, my understanding was that the proposed work was to solve the host
multihoming problem, in particular the issues described in
draft-montavont-mobileip-multihoming-pb-statement.
In order to address the issues presented in this draft, much more than
registering multiple CoAs is needed, i am afraid.
In particular, supporting multiple HoAs will require considerable
modifications in the CN AFAICT. Now, the shim seems to provide some of
the required features for supporting multiple HoAs, and its deployment
will also imply modifying the CNs. So, i guess that only becuase of
deployment configurations, it makes much sense to try to explore
whether the shim is useful, just in order to avoid two modifications of
all the installed base.
