The benefit of using "streams" as a conveyer of new/retire messages is that you aren't required to the bookkeeping on the receiver side. Current design (also #1799) requires the receiver of the CIDs to track the sequence numbers of CIDs to see that if the newly received CID is a retransmit. Stream has the logic to detect and ignore retransmits; reusing that simplifies the design. -- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
