I agree with this.

Since the IESG has to approve the Tao, this seems workable:
1. Have them issue a statement saying "he's dead, Jim" or whatever.
2. At the same time, ask Greg or his designee to remove public-facing links to the existing document so that it's not found any more.
3. Put a note at the top of the document saying this is dead, and pointing to the IESG statement.
