I think we *should* publish an RFC, in order to get both "Obsoleted by" and "Historic" into the metadata of RFC6722. However, I think that Rich's suggestion to leave the final Tao in place at .ietf.org works in any case.

(BTW, the RSWG has already discussed using web.archive.org URLs to replace broken links in RFCs.)
