Try this instead:

"XXX Ho-te-RU (Hotel) pu-RI-i-zu (please)"

Trying to pronounce L as L instead of L as R will just confuse the 
driver :-) And it gets even worse when the auto-reversal algorithm
kicks in so that "Interop" becomes "Intelop", but this is really the
subject of an entire book if not PhD thesis.
