I agree with Jeff and would vote for option 1 to make
draft-ietf-ccamp-network-inventory-yang-02 as the base model for network
inventory and capture the common requirements (hardware inventory) for all
network technologies. Other requirements such as software can be optional
and can always be developed with augments.
