You can get several answers to the question how the variety of Val Badia is
called. From <https://www.uniunladins.it/theladinhistory> I get:

Ladin (also known as Dolomitic Ladin) is a Romance language spoken by about
30,000 people in the Dolomites - in five valleys around the Sella Group, to
be precise: Val Badia (with the Badiot, Ladin de mesa val, and Marô
dialects), Val Gardena (Gherdëna), Val di Fassa (Cazet, Brach, Moenat),
Livinallongo del Col di Lana (Fodom), and Ampezzo (Ampezan).

which translates to:

Ladin of Val Badia (with the three varieties badiot used in the upper part
of the valley, ladin de mesaval in the central part and marou in the
municipality of Marebbe

So does badiot also function as a hypernym for the other two local
varieties in the valley or does it only refer to the local variety spoken
in the upper part?
