Using <http://www.sceneonthe.net/unicode.htm>, I put 4E00 into the
"Character numbers" box, and pasted the entry in the "Characters" box
into a Google window.

I could equally well have typed 4300 Alt+X into Microsoft Word, or used
<http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/4E00>.
