Hi Roberto, You are right. Basically it is the trade-off between redundancy(traffic cost), latency, and bandwidth efficiency. That's what we are trying to balance. An interesting thing we find is that you need QoE control feedback to adjust your scheduling strategy in real time. For example, in VoD, when the video buffer is high (you are far from rebuffering), your scheduling can be conservative in order to reduce cost. But when your network becomes unstable and you are about to encounter rebuffering, you should use more aggressive scheduling, at the cost of more redundancy. We also think different applications (videoconferencing, VoD, and RPC) should use different policies and that is what QUIC is good at as a user space protocol. I believe there is a lot more to be done as QUIC truly enables accelerated innovations.
