As I said in the BOF, most of these models are generated from ecosystem sources by tools, so if there is a breaking change that doesn’t reduce the domain, it should be possible to get the tools to adjust.  Of course other materials such as tutorials decay with these changes, and touching the tools is work, so there should be a reason for the change.  But overall I think this specification is malleable to an extent rarely seen.

In the end, layering backpack on backpack will make the tools hard to maintain and brittle, so we really care about getting the simplifications and refactorings possible with each change.
