Differentiating between the different variants of Ladin is crucial in view
of their unique linguistic characteristics.
Each variant not only has its own vocabulary and grammar, but also
represents the rich cultural and linguistic diversity inherent in the Ladin
language.
We have chosen to assign only one tag per region and to focus on the
dominant spelling only.
The standard form is of great importance for education and administration -
it is the variant that is taught in schools and used consistently in
government and official communication.
The introduction of these subtags is essential to acknowledge this
linguistic diversity
and to support the development of specific linguistic tools tailored to
these variants.
