Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. So far there's
agreement on most of the content. I think everyone agrees with the
lower bound on the DTMF duration and gap (without it bad things will
happen), so it's all down to whether there should be an upper bound.
My personal opinion is that a 6-8 second limit is reasonable and would
avoid problems, but it's not worth giving up on DTMF just for this issue
.
