12-6 pm is not "wrong". If we had started at 0700 in Vancouver and remained
consistent with that, it wouldn't have been "wrong" either. But starting to
time shift individual meetings because it doesn't work great for certain
people would violate the principle of sharing the pain

I also wouldn't assume that a particular time is ideal for a certain time
zone, either -- mornings, evenings, and the middle of the night will be
attractive to different people based on their constraints. Moving the times
around in a consistent manner avoids continuous inconvenience for anyone.
