This behavior is indeed application-specific - I tested in multiple 
browsers as well as several text editors, and some of the text editors 
don't even display the characters right to left. It seems likely that 
most readers would use web browsers to view even the text format, and 
they all display the characters right to left (Firefox shows the word 
way to the right, but Safari and Chromium-based browsers don't).

I'm not quite sure what desired output is, but it seems to me that what 
we're seeing right now is likely the best we can do today. Happy to be
