All gTLD registries and registrars will be obliged to use RDAP from next month onwards.

At present all gTLD registries and registrars follow a consistent format for their whois output which is mandated under their respective contracts.

And the existing system is not consistently formatted, this would create a parseable and consistent standard.

And would bypass GDPR concerns by registries.
