I'm not sure why this is still being debated. Lorenzo's suggestion, I thought, was really clear and to the point. The issue here is not what 64-bit gets used in the IID. The only question is whether a permanent 64-bit IID is desirable for security concerns.

Why is it difficult to only make that point?
