This strikes me as rather overoptimistic.  Sure, a sophisticated user
can set up her DNS configuration do all sorts of stuff.  But until
now, the other 99.99% of normal users just use whatever DNS
configuration their system gives them.  They don't know what DNS is,
and if a browser or other application does resolverless DNS, they
don't understand the implications or how to turn it off.

If the browser pops up a permission window, it says:

  blah blah security parp parp DNS bloop bloop
  extremely dangerous gargle gargle safety?

so they'll click OK to make it go away.
