I mean DKIM, not Domainkeys.  Domainkeys had two rounds of development 
before the ad hoc, private consortium of roughly 12 organizations met 
for a year to integrate it and cisco's Identified Internet Mail.

Some of the consortium participants implemented the original (pre-IETF) 
specification:

    http://dkim.org/Misc/Press%20Release%20July-2005b.txt

but none of that was on the scale of adoption and deployment that dmarc 
has already received.
