You seem to be saying this as though it's obvious.  It's not obvious and I 
expect I'm not the only person who thinks it's just wrong.

Yes, we know all that, and the visa issues are quite subtle.  For example, 
in North America the U.S. has a reputation as being difficult for visas, 
but attendees have told us that Canada is sometimes worse because they can 
take forever to say yes or no.  While it is likely easier to get a Mexican 
visa, from a lot of the world the only reasonable routes to Mexico are via 
the U.S.
