Hello Mikael:

I started an informational draft for 6MAN on WiND (wireless ND) to explain what physical models it serves and how it can be used over several MAC layer abstractions.

WiND is a series of drafts that were initially defined outside 6MAN, but may continue and be maintained in 6MAN. WiND extends IPv6 ND for multiple types of radios and other constrained links that were studied at 6lo.

The draft contains things like what I just posted in this thread, trying to express that on radios the concepts of Broadcast Domains, IP Link and IP subnet do not necessarily overlap

The draft presents to 6MAN the new methods we added to IPv6 ND outside this group to address the physical connectivity and the logical topologies that we build over it. In that process we did not need to change IPv6 addressing model so the draft will *not* contain proposed the changes to link local address schema.

Still it is usable as a reference to sustain the discussion. And I imagine/hope that 6MAN will take over and manage the future of WiND anyway so it’s good to have an introduction...

All the best,

Pascal
