Working group,

this working group last call is closed.

The working group chairs has followed the discussion on the mailing
list closely. We want to go forward with the draft-ietf-mpls-tp-mip-mep-map,
but we also believe that the that it should be turned into a more
framework style of document.

We believe that OAM messages carrying a MIP or MEP identifier in the
message header (before the payload OAM protocol fields) should be
assigned new ACh Type values rather than being variations of existing
OAM messages that does not currently include such identifiers.

The identifiers carried in those messages, regardless of how we chose
to encode them, must be found at well know places and have well known
format.

While the document has been prepared it has gone through and
excluded some solutions, this is fine. As this is made into a
framework document, it does not need to go into as much detail of
the proposed solution. We will need protocol specification for
the ACh types and we should not constrain the protocol specifications
unnecessarily.

As this is made into a framework document, it does not need to go into
as much detail of the proposed solution.

This document is therefore returned for further working group work
and a new WG last call will be held sometime in the future when the
document is ready.

/Loa
