Yes, signing blue sheets is not quite optional as such. One of the things of
being an open organization is the fact that there is a list of people that
attend the meetings. Of course, there is no blue sheet police, but it is
both good for the organization and for yourself to sign the blue sheets.

I'm also puzzled about the perceived privacy concerns. You have publically
registered to the IETF meeting, and everybody can see you at the individual
WG meetings. What are you concerned of?
