yup. the owner of the the From field domain has consented to permit the
owner of the domain under which the mta runs to send email through the
mta.

so what is it that you thought was nonsense?

What has not yet been explained is why anyone thinks it is critical to
prevent claims that email is coming from aol.com?

how will preventing spoofing reduce spam?  (I am making a very large
stretch, here, and am assuming that folks actually have the goal of
reducing spam.)

it would help, for example, to see some sort of analysis that shows that
spoofed spam is somehow more dangerous than non-spoofed spam.

Forgive me for assuming that all of this energy in favor of RMX was
based on the believe that it might actually lead to a reduction in spam.

Perhaps you missed the request for some information:

I apologize for responding directly to one of the numerous ad hominems
that was directed at me.

It's a shame that the ad hominems do not bother you at least as much as
the response to them.

In any event, if you have rules about which ad hominems are acceptable
to respond to and which ones are not, please document them.
