That makes sense.

But do take into account that the IETF does not standardize gateways.
SIP is a protocol, and various messages are defined to operate in
certain ways.  Your gateway is "correct" if it gets the desired
results using the standardized facilities provided by SIP.

It sounds like what you're looking for is a thorough review of the
design's use of SIP.  That's not something that the IETF does, though
the IETF is a good place to find SIP experts who can assess your
design.

The first step is to provide a reference to the design documentation.
A design can't be reviewed if it isn't documented.
