I don't quite agree with the above - my take is that we're
in danger of losing (or have lost a lot of) our sense of
being a community due to an accumulation of mostly external
factors.

(Nice correction:-)

I'd argue that we don't necessarily need to have heard new
things now for this topic (rebuilding community) to be a
relevant one at this stage - as we emerge from the pandemic
over the next couple of years, that rebuilding would in any
case be needed, even if we'd been doing fine before 2020.
(Which I don't think was the case myself.)

I do agree it's hard to see what to do or say that'd help.
I'd encourage the IESG/IAB to actively put it on their
agendas though, perhaps with some sort of initial "how're
we doing?" kind of question at the IETF-114 plenary.
