FWIW, that does not work here.

Bash adds a space after the $(), so one has to do:

  dig type61 $(printf %s._openpgpkey.fedoraproject.org. \
      $(printf pwouters | sha224sum | sed 's/..$//' )) \
      | grep TYPE61 | sed 's/^.*TYPE61.*\\\#[0-9]* //' \
      | grep -v ';' | sed 's/ //g' | xxd -r -p | gpg --import --dry-run

but gpg (2.0) does not like that binary data.

Replacing --import --dry-run with --list-packets does not do any better.
